I spent a lot of time with the democrats, good people. Of course I also spent a lot of time with the republicans, good people too. Since we only have two parties it's no surprise that we tend to be pretty evenly split between democrats and republicans. Binary models can not adequately define the diversity of our culture. It has failed us in many of the same ways as our gender binary. Most people do not fit the model. People force themselves into the best fit, "the lesser of two evils". 88% of us are dissatisfied with Washington and yet the Incumbent will win 90% of the time. It illustrates the disconnect between our social values and our political constraints. If I don't like the Republican, then I have to vote for the democrat. I'm happy to say Independents are addressing that problem.
